Rotary Club Prapatan

1988 District Governor Willy Wiguna asked Alain-Pierre Mignon to establish a new Rotary Club with the majority of members representing the expatriate community.
1989 Rotary Club Prapatan was officially chartered with twenty five French members not to say that Alain-Pierre, the charter President was a Frenchman.
Since 1989 when Rotary Club Prapatan was first chartered our club and its members have been very active, and today our members are no longer exclusively French; we have members from a multitude of countries spanning from Australia to England.

The secret of our success is Friendship! Without friendship, nothing would have been possible.

We have been able to achieve:
Orphanage   supported more than 175 orphan children in Indonesia
Wheelchairs   donated almost 400 wheelchairs to disabled people in Indonesia
Polio Plus Program   Each year we participated in all the Rotary International Eradication of Polio Campaigns
University Sponsorship   for a select few top students we having given them the financial support necessary to pay for their university tuition fees
Doctor Training   financed the overseas training costs for an Indonesian Doctor to study in France as a specialist in Cardiology with a view to train other doctors in Indonesia and pass on her vital knowledge
SCC Children’s Education   Our StreetChildrenCare project was first launched in 2003 and during this time we have encouraged and paid tuition fees more than 200 children each year to attend school. We have also provided activities houses where these children can play like children and develop their personal skill.  We have also provided each of these children with their school uniforms, shoes, books and the necessary support to succeed in their education program
Orphanages & Schools for more than 2800 children

We plan to build in Calang Orphanages & Schools to accommodate more than 2800 children that were the survivors from the 2004 Tsunami

One of our most important and urgent projects is to build the orphanages and rebuild the schools for more than 2,800 children in Cilang.  Prior to the Tsunami, Calang was a very prosperous village having more than 45,000 people. Today only 7,000 people including children have survived this catastrophic event.  More than 1,000 children have lost both their mother and father, and more than half of the children have lost either their mother or father.

Before doing anything, we always have to think, say or do before starting

•  Is it the TRUTH?

•  Is it FAIR to all concerned?

•  Will it build GOODWILL and BETTER FRIENDSHIPS?

•  Will it be BENEFICIAL to all concerned?"

Rotary is not for rich people or top executive. Door are wide open to anyone who cares and accept to spend a little bit of his time to help those who need help such as: Street Children ,Orphans, disables, elderly, natural disasters, polio, aids, narcotic, a gifted child who's parents cannot afford to finance his study etc….

You are interested? How much it cost?

Only 500.000 Rp per year plus 100.000 Rp as administration fees payable one time but be aware that being a Rotarian means a new commitment in your live. You have to understand how you are lucky with your life and how much you can help those who got nothing or very little.

Rotary club is from man aned woman so visit us to see who we are and what we do.

Everybody is welcome.
