Polio
In 1988, our club has been very active in the imunization polio governement program.
Being directly involved on the Minister level, we have been working from the country network organisation to the implementation of the campaign.
In 2005, infortunatly , Indonesia have been obliged to launch again another campaign in which our district 3400 has been deeply involved.
We have been in charge not only to control if all children registered will visit the vaccins location but almost we have been in charge of the monitoring of the campaign.
We have been able, therefore, to know that only 93% of the regisrered children attended the vaccin etc.....
In 1985, Rotary launched the PolioPlus program to protect children worldwide from the cruel and fatal consequences of polio. In 1988, the World Health Assembly challenged the world to eradicate polio. Since that time, Rotary's efforts and those of partner agencies, including the World Health Organization, the United Nations Children's Fund, the United States Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, and governments around the world, have achieved a 99 percent reduction in the number of polio cases worldwide.
All Rotary clubs of the world are concern and mobilized to fight against Polio. Our duty is to eradicate Polio ..............that is why we are all so concern.
