VISION
•To give an opportunity to a child from the street to access to a proper "local" education.

•To provide the child with the means and environment to succeed.

Giving them:
- Pride and confidence in their life.
- An open mind to be less subject to manipulation.
- A chance to contribute to the development of their country.

This vision, being shared by numerous individuals, corporations and Rotary Prapatan can become the corner stone of a program able to gradually gather funding from interested parties, to ensure the most efficient implementation of educational support to hundreds of Indonesian Children.

US$ 100.00 per child per year, can make the difference between a child growing into a productive citizen and child growing into a marginal dependent.

Mission
Educational support of under-privileged children, who otherwise would have been deprived of primary and secondary school education.

OUR TARGET LOCATIONS - Rural poor villages and urban slums

Locations will change and expand as needs arise and funds permit.

Monetary participation in the Rotary Club of Prapatan's "streetchildrencare" project will ensure ALL the money you donate will benefit the child you choose to sponsor. No money to the parents, no money to the children, we pay the cost of support directly to where it does the most good, the providers of the services the child needs.
NO MONEY IS TAKEN FOR ADMINISTRATION.

HOW THE CHILDREN ARE SELECTED?

The Rotary Club of Prapatan independently raises funds through various activities to cover the cost of employing local social workers who visit the slums to identify and interview potential recipients. Rotary members participate in the selection process and provide management support on a voluntary basis. The criteria for selection are basically as follows :
Income generally below US$ 60.00 per month.
Housing that is usually best described as "other"
Parents occupation : scavenging, street beggars, street musicians, garbage resellers and food hawkers.
